UC Berkeley Library Proxy Server Service

Visiting Scholars and the UCB Library Proxy Servers

Visiting scholars and postdoctoral fellows who are officially affiliated with UCB campus departments and registered with the Visiting Scholars and Postdoc Affairs program are eligible to use the Library's proxy service.

If you are an eligible visiting scholar and your attempts to use the proxy service are cut short by a message to the effect that "Your Library privileges do not permit you to use this service," chances are that the Library has no record for you yet in its Patron Database. In that event, you should visit or otherwise contact the Privileges Desk in Doe Library (phone 510-642-3403; email privdesk@library.berkeley.edu) and discuss your status with the staff there. They can set up an appropriate Library record for you, after which you will be able to use the proxy service.

If you have questions about which proxy service to use, or if you experience problems authenticating with your UC Berkeley CalNet ID, please submit the Proxy Server Problem Report Form.
