What is My Library ID and Password?
For students: If you have chosen CalNet authentication, your username
is your
CalNet ID
and your password is your CalNet kerberos passphrase.
If you have chosen PIN authentication,
your username is your Student ID and your password
is (by default) your four-digit date of birth in MMDD format.
You may request a custom PIN at the Privileges Desk in Doe Library.
For faculty and staff: If you have chosen CalNet authentication,
your username is your
CalNet ID
and your password is your CalNet kerberos passphrase.
If you have chosen PIN authentication,
your username is your current UC Berkeley Library ID.
For most UC Berkeley staff, the Library ID is the same as ones Employee ID.
However, some staff may have a Library Card bearing an ID beginning with the
letter "L" followed by a nine-digit number.
If you have a UCB-Stanford Research card,
your username will be the barcode number on the back
of your UCB-Stanford Research card.
Your password is
(by default) your four-digit date of birth in MMDD format.
(E.g., if your birthdate is June 3, your PIN would default to 0603;
or if your birthdate is November 23, your PIN would be 1123.)
Again, you may request a custom PIN at the Privileges Desk in Doe Library.
